A Complete Plant including all interconnecting pipe work valves pumps and fittings designed to take in whole milk at 4º C and heat to 145 º C, cool and store as an homogenized product in an aseptic storage tank fully automated. Product Flow
Raw milk is introduced to a clean system via the level controlled balance tank ( C ) and on through pump ( 5 ) and into the five section heat exchanger which has three heating and two cooling sections. All the product passes through the APV Gaulin KF6 3PS two stage homogenizer.
Finished product enters the 5000 Litre Jacketed Aseptic tank (A) through a steam barrier line and the tank is provided with three normal filters and two sterile filter elements to give positive pressure air. The whole system is designed for in place cleaning from tank (B).

The MRPX unit has a nominal capacity of 12,000 lph but can be down rated to operate at 5,500 lph. At this flow rate the machine would produce a skim milk phase of approximately 0.05% fat with a cream phase of 42%.
The machine is a self desludging type.
Information on the machine indicates that it was purchased reconditioned from Tetra Pak in August 2004. It was installed later that year and removed when the plant was shut.
